<x-flowed>Wow, I still have some of these plastic sleeves. These couldn't be the original hoses, can they? No way. They probably reused the plastic sleeves after replacing the hoses.

Did you know that VW originally supplied all these engines with a plastic
sleeve on top of the German hose? So, originally, the only places you could see
the external braid was an inch or so at the ends.

If you insist on German hose. Don't buy 7mm. Find someone who has the 7.5mm FI
hose.
