No, the 71 uses a different size spline shaft from the 70 and earlier cars.
I know this because I have a 71 column and wheel in my 65 Notch, and couldn't
use my nice 65 wheel on that column. The 71 is a one year only part as in 72
they changed the wheel again to the 4 spoke version. I hope this helps.
