sorry, i am a little confused. I have ordered the 200 mm spring loaded clutch. that makes sense. but for the throw out bearing-do i need the newer style? or should I be getting one that is similar to the one in my '65 bus? or put another way-do i get th throw out bearing with two round post sticking out either side, where you need the separate retaining springs, or do i get the one with the squared off posts sticking out, with the retaining springs already attached? hope that isn't too confusing of a question. -kevin -----Original Message----- From: Russ wolfe [mailto:russella@prairieinet.net] Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2003 8:58 PM To: Type 3 List Subject: Re: [T3] door seals & clutch kits & spark plug wires On Tue, 2003-06-17 at 15:25, Kevin Guarnotta wrote: > > I am realizing that my clutch is slipping, so I am planning on a replacement > soon. on my bus whenever replacing the clutch, I usually replace the > pressure plate and throw-out bearing at the same time...usually comes in a > kit. while browsing on line i saw a rigid clutch disc and a sprung clutch > disc? why choose one over the other? who sells a kit? They seem to be a little easier on the rest of the drive train and make for easier engagement. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
