You have to get the connector off the plug and then screw it back onto the wire. For now, you can actually "unscrew" the connector from the plug, if you haven't already gotten it out. The connector itself is almost certainly okay. In the future, don't pull on the wire. You have to grab the rubber boot over the connector and pull. This can be hard, but they will always come off. > My timing light showed that #4 was SENDING a spark but I'm not sure how > often its getting to #4. The connection is looose. Badly loose. If you mean the one between the wire and the SP connector then that should just screw in once you get things apart. Otherwise, you may have to nip off a tiny bit of the end of the wire to expose fresh wire. > I'm in a hurry for that new wire. Let me know exactly what you need and we can work something out. Frankly, I never have found the need to replace the fuel filter unless the overflow hose had been cracked and run that way for an extended period. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
