Mike, are these OE VW wires? If so you could snip off about a 1/4" off the 
end and re-thread the "orange" connector back on (after you remove it from the 
spark plug). If these are not OE VW wires, then you need to get a set of wires. 
Maybe Jim or Russ will chime in here. I hope this helps.
