You're not dreaming. They were factory. The Z-bars acted as anti-sway bars that 
only came into play when the square was rather heavily loaded. In the US, I 
think only about 2 years got these, 67-8. They might well be included in the HD 
Varient II suspensions, but I don't know for sure.
