Well, I think I'd only pay that (if I had it) > for one of those complete and correct ISP West restorations... And even > then... ;) I'm even less impressed with ISP. After Shad and I discussed the type 3 caliper piston diameters and I mentioned the type 1 calipers that ISP was selling on ebay as type 3 calipers, I got an email from someone at ISP offering to explain to me how sure they were that the calipers they were selling were correct for either type 1 or 3. I was polite, but I wrote back and explained all the differences between type 1 and type 3 calipers, including the very clear difference between the piston retaining plates which were clearly visible in their photo, as well as the very significant piston diameter difference which you can only see if you take them apart (or look carefully at the part number molded into the boot.) I never got a reply. I have no idea if they were offended, puzzled, mystified, or simply embarrased, but I was not impressed with their type 3 "expertise." It takes a lot more than good cosmetics to make a careful restoration. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
