Since the oil must be hot/warm for it's change, I have always driven the T3 to where the tune is to occur the next day, park and drain the warm oil, letting it do so overnight, dripping happily. Next morning, I refill the oil, clean screen, refill, check it, and then do the tune up, when everything is nice and cold. I leave a can of oil on or in the engine to remind me that the oil has been drained. Jeff '67 Sqbk -----Original Message----- My notes say valves, points, timing---is that right? And when do you change the oil; before or after? I can't remember---should the engine be warm or cold for the oil change? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
