You've got an early caliper and steering knuckle on the right and late ones on the left. The cast in number is meaningless, I think it is just a mold number. What year is this? Then we can tell you which set of parts to look for to make this right. This kind of thing happens when someone bends/breaks a steering knuckle and they get a replacement from the junkyard. Sometimes it just wasn't the right one. My 73 came this way, too; I've got it fixed now. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
