The dimple is on the left side.

Did you follow all the directions in the Bentley manual. It IS possible that 
the hole in the trailing arm has been worn loose. If the rod was left loose for 
a long time this can ruin the trailing arm. The rods themselves seem to be much 
harder and never get damaged except at the dimple, where the even harder set 
screw pushes against it.
