Last night we began the chore of changing the front clip on a badly wrecked 73 squareback. Last winter it went into the back of a Toyota landcrusier and lost big time. We came across an incredibly straight (in the front only) 72...The clip was removed...and we waited....The 73 was delivered on Wednesday night... I had Paul (the owner of this 73 )come over and sand the front fenders, hood and new clip...then primered them all. John and Toby showed up ...We got to work, first we removed all wires, trim, gas tank and bad fenders..Out came the Sawzall...Whack off came the bad nose. New clip test fit...trim...test....trim more...another test...trim a bit more..PoooF! Like magic it fits even the factory stampings on the inner wheel well line up! Grab the fenders, bolt them on...little more adjusting..NICE. Grab the Lincoln welder...go! All the welds are done tonight we will finish up all the little things, do a front brake job to the car and "release" back into the wild. Not bad for a night work...And see TheDDB put yet another back into service If anyone needs this done , I would saw to do it..It wasn't all that hard at all [really] Thanks to John and Toby for the help .
