Alsom look at where the wire goes into the tranny for the "kickdown" solenoid. MY '71 leaks too, but only if it sets for a few days. Part of this is caused by the fsct that after setting, the oil drains back down out of the torque converter into the trans. This put the fluid level extremely high in the trans, and will cause it to leak. Remeber that we check the fluid level with the engine running and in neutral. At this point, the fluid level is below the level of the pan gasket. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
