I beg to differ Dave, my 65 Notch had them too, before I altered them for my 
IRS conversion. I didn't feel too bad about doing it though as the ramp for 
them was rusted thru in places. They used to dump out right where my engine 
hanger brackets currently are. On the early Notches, the drain ramp ran parallel 
to the side of the engine bay, with the flap pointing to the rear. These flaps 
were the same as all other type3s. Sorry to pop your bubble Dave.
