Re: [T3] plastic door sheeting


I think most of the original plastic sheeting was only about 3 mils thick. I 
have used with sucess some thicker trash bags on mine. I suppose you could 
glue it to the door panel, but if the clips break off during installation then 
they aren't sealing the door. I also think this layer of plastic is for some 
knid of noise control, as I've seen other models of cars and trucks using this 
method of sound control. Granted some used plastic sheeting and others used wax 
paper, but they all seemed to use something, even with plastic door panels 
(water won't warp them) I've seen either method used. Is this a possibility or am 
I way off base? I seem to remember having a type3 that didn't have the 
plastic in the door (1 side) being louder before I put it back in place. Any ideas 
from the experts?
