Yup, we got our "Darksider" Roadster running this long weekend. It was a thrash to get all the work done, but the SMILE on my face while taking it for a test ride was worth it!! We put on a set of polished 8 spokes on it to finish the outside up too, and with the shiney black paint, with stock chrome trim on the sides, it looks good. Unfortunately I still have film in my camera so I can't post any pics, but when I can I will. We've been trying to get it ready for our annual local cruise night and car show (it normally brings in cars from all over) so that we can show it. Those of you here that I've sent photos to can appreciate the work we've done just getting to this point, now we're going to drive it. I've always wanted a vert, after taking several customer cars out for road tests, but I didn't want another bug vert like everyone else. So when my son suggested we build one out all of junk type3 parts I had laying here I couldn't really say no, after all it is a type3 that we're resurrecting from the grave. Just thought I'd give everyone an update, because I'm happy to get it going on its own. WOO HOO!! Maybe next year we'll convert it to IRS in the rear (currently a swing axle), if we don't do it this year first. Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof 69 Square AT- the baby suburban 65 Roadster project- formerly a cut up Square (no type3s were harmed in its construction as it was built from junk parts)- now running on its own ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
