Hi there! My name is rob martin and i live in Omaha, Nebraska. i had been on this = list a couple years ago or so. I drive my '69 type 3 fastback daily to = work during the summer and use a saab 900 for winter duty. My baby has = fuel injection and the auto tranny. It is basically stock and mostly = original. i have installed some 145's in front(push a bit. like the = look, dont like the handling). Other than that, a bugpack header and = single quiet pack round out my diversions from stock. The car works great. It has been dependable and trustworthy for years. = The generator failed and needed brushes. After installing the = exhaust(and new heat exchangers-thanks Jim Adney!) i noticed increased = power all over, with much more top end. There seems to be a miss at the = same rpm(low) and throttle settings(any very low throttle adjustment = makes it skip). It doesnt like 1/4 or less throttle settings. i dont = like less than 7/8 throttle settings! It really sings with the new = exhaust. i dont have heat as of yet. In the fall, i suppose i will do = something about that. i get a bit of a wobble sometimes after hitting = bumps. i had one balljoint replaced, but suppose it needs more = attention. i have three sand bags in the front trunk to set the front = down a bit. It sags in the rear which is fine because i want the front = lowered to match eventually(this winter). With the weight in the front, = the car tracks much truer and is less bothered by crosswinds. It was = rather darty before, now it is happy with a somewhat heavy steering. Hope all is well with all the old timers on the list. There was a = fellow in Mexico who used to drive his T3 harder than i drive mine. Is = he still around? rob in omaha 69 T3 fastback 68 T1, gone but not forgotten 63 T1 ragtop, gone but horribly missed(but has arisen with a beatiful = face i could never have given it) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
