I have a 69 AT with Weber carbs. I don't see why you can't keep the set up you have. You have to make sure you can get vacuum to the vacuum modulator on the AT. Check to see if there is a hose there.

Also, as for the kickdown switch, you can devise something that will work as long as you have a kickdown switch. I made a bracket out of some steel straps and just made something up. The kickdown switch works beautifully, now. When I floor it, is shifts down quickly. If you don't have a kickdown switch, just shift manually...... it's no big deal IMO.

My setup has been very reliable now.... I like it a lot.
