My dad bought a 1960 Corvair on the very first day they came out in the fall of 1959. I've always loved them for many reasons, mainly their willingness to depart from mainstream American automotive thinking. I learned to drive in that car. The styling similarity with the type 34 has always struck me as amazing, but we have to admit that Chevy did it before VW. People who know automotive styling trends better than I can probably point to examples earlier than the Corvair, however. These may all trace back to the Italian Ghia stylists. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
