It's the Gunson Gastester Mk 2, which is bright yellow with an analogue meter rather than the more 'modern' LED display. I've had no problems with it and have had it since about 1988 I'd guess - I think I got it a year or so after we got the Polo as that needed to pass CO level. You adjust the meter to read 2% in air (for some reason) and I would say it's within the 0.5% they claim. The green model with LED and rpm might be more useful, but sells at nearer £90 than the £50 mine cost (probably about the same when inflation is taken into account, though). I wonder what the simpler garage type costs - maybe second-hand. Could be useful to have HC readout too, as that can spot ignition/valve problems. Dave.
