I would not expect Euro models to differ at all, in this respect, from US 
models.

Until I get one to take apart, I don't know. I had assumed that there was 
something that one could measure directly, or take apart and measure. How about 
the drilling down from the top into the body of the float valve; wouldn't that 
be the diameter of the valve itself? You could measure it with a caliper, or 
with drill bits/wire gauges.

Would a Solex beetle float valve screw into a Soles type 3 carb?
