Formulated for exhaust systems, even manifolds, Supposedly good to 1400 degrees F. I ahve been very happy with the POR-15 performance on Sophy and figured it has to be better than the black paint that I can scrape off with my fingernail that came on the muffler and header. The POR-20 would be a good treatment, I think for an OEM muffler. Sandblast it and paint it. > What's your impression on exhaust rust in the midwest: Is it > mostly from the > inside or the outside? I would venture that the outside in is faster in the Salt Belt due to the influences of the salt on the exhaust. That being said, I would still like to slosh a bit of POR-20 around inside my new muffler. It certainly can't hurt since the stuff wicks into the smallest of seams and such. Of course if they are glass packed, I could seriously screw up the flow inside the muffler. <G> Later, John Jaranson '71 FI Auto Fasty (Jane) '66 Square (Sophy) About Half a Late Square (Organ Donor) http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jaransonT3/jaransonT3/ ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
