Cool, I was looking at doing an engine swap from a T4 into my fastback and
using the T4 transmission at the same time so it should work.  For those
that have done the T4 swap how does the engine/t3 trans gearing work out for
you?

Basically, Yes. There are some mounting differences, But they will
interchange with some work. T-4 goes directly into a T-3. Some bolt
holes have to be tapped to put a T-3 into a T-4.
The T-3 final drive ratio is 3.67:1. The T-4 final drive ratio is 3.91:1
