All my registrations (including my 73 beetle) said
nontransferable. You don't transfer the registration I
believe, you need a bill of sale and the VIN # (and,
of course, as always, a sales tax form -- that's a
given :) )...
As for going back three or four times, that has been
my experience with EVERY transaction for ANY
automobile I've purchased out of state. They always
need SOMETHING else from me or from the PO.
In-state transfers and simple reregistration I've
never had a problem with.
