If the car sat for a while, It is common for them to leak fluid around
the dip stick tube. What is happening, is that the fluid is draining
back down out of the torque converter, so the fluid level is above the
gasket level.
Clean off all of the silicon goop, and do not put any back on the
gasket. Make sure that the pan is flat in the bolt hole areas, and DO
NOT over tighten the bolts. There is a torque spec. on these bolts, and
it is not much. It is in inch pounds. Look it up in the Bentley manual.
Mine is out in the shop right now, and not near this computer.
