Excellent... I will get all the pertinent details and go from there.
Steve Galavas hung a 2230 Type 4 in his Square and let me borrow his
"bumper brackets" while the engine was out to have another set fabbed.
It's going to be lots of trial and error, but what better way to learn,
right?

The biggest question here is what year of Vanagon did the engine come
out
of, it was post '73 (I think) then you are basically dealing with a Type
4
Engine and should proceed from your research from there.
