They would have had > a T3 part number right?? Both. They don't have VW numbers on them because they were not a factory part (except for the type 34s.) They are not in the type 3 parts books or microfiche (except for type 34s) Type 34s have a separate microfiche for all those parts which are different from the other type 3s, so what you have to do in a type 34 parts search is look for that part in the type 34 book first and if you don't find it there you look in the general type 3 book. There are no references to type 34s in the general type 3 book. VDO changed their numeral styles several times. There are at least 2 different versions of black faced type 3 instruments. Is it possible that the black faced tachs you've seen were of one style, while the instruments you have are the other style? None of these (except for type 34s) would have VW numbers on them because they were never sold by VW. They were only sold by VDO for VWs. Dealers could still buy them, but not from VW. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
