I know I'm a little late for this but I did a clock-->tach conversion for my Notch ('73, black face, KMH, red needled instruments) a few years back. I sent Greg M. a brief how-to with pics that made the process as clear as mud, even I couldn't have done the conversion after reading it. It used a clock and a generic VDO tach, a 3 1/8" w/ black face and "UPM" and VDO printed on it, slipped inside the stock clock housing to keep it in place. Mine just happened to have the same style numbers and all that it "passed" if you gave it a quick glance but probably wouldn't stand up to any scrutiny. AAR, it's at home with all the other Notch flotsam waiting for the body to be done. I can make an honest effort to rewrite the instructions with pics if anyone's interested.
