VDO made, marketed, and sold a version specifically for type 3s. I believe it
was made to exactly match the other type 3 instruments which they also made and
sold thru VW. I believe they had the exact clips that were needed for a
"proper" type 3 installation. No way was this any kind of universal tach. Of
course they made and sold those also, but the type 3 ones were different.
I've no doubt that they did the same for other makes also, but I don't remember
seeing those in the ads. My mind just didn't focus on them the same way. ;-)
