Can anyone on the list shine a bit of light on what appears to be a ?surplus part (leads don't connect to anything), but may be something to do with the speedo (umschwang=revolution ------> UPM being more to do with tacho? from current thread) from the name. The part is between the end of speedo cable (in) and screws onto the speedo. It's plastic with part of label left its got Hella & "Tachowellenschalt** (?er)". Terminals on the part are stamped onto the body, one is M16 and the other K1.5 these are connected to a lead which went nowhere. There is also a screw below the terminals. The only thing that gives a clue is in Bentley (p45) which talks about "**inaccurate speedos must be recalibrated by decreasing or increasing the power of its magnet". Maybe this is what the screw is for but Benley does not mentioned as a separate part to the speedo. Turning the shaft that the cable end goes in does have a significant amount of drag, maybe this is the magnet? Anyone have any ideas.
