[T3] Portland Oregon and a distributor question.......

Hello I used to be a member of this list back in Pennsylvania when I owned
a 70 squareback......now I am living in Portland Oregon and am looking at
buying a 71 squareback.
My first question relates directly to the squareback that I may buy. I
have done only preliminary checking on the car, but one thing that made
me curious was that there was a dust cover over the points in the
distributor.
Now this makes me curious because I owned a FI 70 square and certainly did
not have a dust cover, and I am under the impression that all FI
distributors were pretty much the same.......and Muir says something about
there being a dust cover in the type IV distributors but no mention of
any in a type 111
What gives?

And my second question is dircted at those of you who live in the Portland
area. I am just looking for connections to local parts/mechanics places.I do my own work but it would be nice to know of some local establishments
that might have a seconhand starter when mine goes out or what have
you...
Any overall opinions on the 71 model squareback? I'm probably gonna buy
it no matter what........it has a roofrack and minimal rust and it
runs/drives/stops and only $400!!!!
Well thanks in advance for any help.......
