Did you mean norch or horch? There was an old German car maker called Horch, which means 'listen!' in German. When one of the founders (I think) wanted to set up his own car production, he called it Audi, which means 'listen!' in Latin. You can see examples of them in the VW museums at Wolfsburg. (useless fact number 23a). Dave.
