Take the car to a couple of body shops to ask for recommendations for a glass shop that knows how to deal with old cars. Bottom line, find a shop that understands and knows how to work on old cars. In my case, the owner owns several trucks by the same manufacturer, and even one of the same era. If the seal is in decent condition, they may be able to add some sealant to seal it up, without replacing the hard-to-find seal. It may be worth this as a short term solution. The materials they have now for glass work are far superior to the old stuff. Jeff '67 Sqbk -----Original Message----- This morning I've been looking for the american style seals, but so far no luck. West coast metric seemed to have a pretty complete parts catalog. They list the american style window seal for a notchback, but indicate that they are not available. I'll keep looking. >It would probably be worthwhile to pay a pro to install the new seal, as >the >large glass bits can be quite fragile, especially old ones (really!) Ok, once I find the seal, I'll have a pro install it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
