The only thing you can do that is reliable is to hone them and then add new fluid and bleed them. Even if you do NOTHING else, it's a good idea to flush fresh dry brake fluid thru the system. At least this will prevent further corrosion. Just use standard fluid until you're all done and then flush that out with the silicone. For front brakes I cut off the female ends of bad brake hoses, trim off all the rubber part, and weld the bore closed. This gives me a cap that I can put on the pipe so that the rest of the system can be bleed without bleeding thru the calipers. Once everything is flushed and clean with silicone I remove the caps and install the rebuilt calipers. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
