[T3] cont. electrical probs, culprit: ignition switch

Now, given Jim A's words of wisdom,
I am back to blaming the ignition switch for my
"sudden turning off" problem.

While I mentioned I could not get it to switch off by wiggling the switch back
and forth, I find I can get it to shut off every time by wiggling in and out
parallel with the insertion direction of the key. For example, if I push in
on the metal part of the switch surrounding the key, I can get it to shut off.

Would anyone have any advice about whether to remove the switch and
try to fix it or should I just replace it.

In fact, CAN I get a replacement switch
easily for a 71? My local mechanic guru/parts supplier tells me that it
says in his book that the 71 switch isnt available.

Its a shame because otherwise its running better than ever.
