[T3] Water leaks and windshield seals

<x-flowed>After driving around in some surprise rain this weekend, I found that a little water was getting inside my 68 SqB MT.
It ended up coming in behind the dash and mucking with the fuse panel, giving me some nice white corrosion to clean off each fuse and fuse socket. Fun.

My first suspect is the aftermarket cal-look windshield seal installed by someone when the glass was replaced.
There are some gaps where the seal meets the body, and I suspect water was wicking around and dropping inside. It all around looks too small based on the paint fade from the original seal. Maybe the glass is a bit too small and a new seal won't help? It's non-VW glass.

Does anyone have any suggestions for obtaining an OEM-esque windshield seal? A PO saved the shiny trim, even though the new seal didn't have a groove for it.

Any other usual suspects for water getting in? Maybe via the vents on the hood?

Thanks
