Greg's advice here is excellent, and I would add one more thing. The process of replacing the injectors can also CAUSE problems. You can bump something and knock a hose off, break a wire, or cause a fuel leak. It is almost certain that you will do at least ONE of these things and have to figure out THAT problem, too. You're best bet when troubleshooting, especially when you're a novice, is to keep your troubleshooting goals and challenges as simple as possible. Adding in the almost certain complications of injector replacement at this time is going to make your life much more difficult. Fix what JUST NOW went wrong, check all the normal tune-up items, and make sure that everything else is correct and working as well as, or better than, before. Then move on to the injectors. > Might want to find where the oil is coming from that's getting > onto the muffler. Yes, definitely. And make sure you still have enough oil in the engine. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
