I've used 3 M's heavy duty rubbing compound on my wife's car several times
for removing wax/glaze build up. You just have to not use a lot of it and be
semi-gentle with it, or it will start removing some of the paint layer. After
you've removed it you can apply another coat of wax, then re-install your
emblems. I've found that the areas under the emblems don't fade as well as the rest
of the car due to them being in full time shade. I hope this helps.
