Then when the engine is back together and in the car, the timing is right where it was when the engine was pulled. When putting the crank back in the case, make sure that #1 rod is on TDC. Have the distributor on the mark for #1, and lower the crank back into the case. Now roll the crank 1/4 turn, and install the camshaft, and line up the gear marks.
