[T3] parts interchange

Howdy all.
It sounds like lots of you had a good time T3-ing this weekend. Project
CheapSquare ( turning out not to be so cheap after all : ( ) is on hold
awaiting funds availability.

    I have two questions.
    1. I tried hotwiring my fuel pump to run clean gat through the fuel
lines to clean them out before I tried to start the car. I have replaced the
fuel lines around the pump, and replaced the fuel filter. I double and
triple checked that all lines were put back in the right place, then started
to fill the tank. I then noticed that gas was running out of the fuel return
hard line at the rear of the pan ( the hose to the pressure regulator was
missing and has not been replaced yet.). I plugged that line, then started
the pump. Immediately gas started spewing from the pump onto the ground, I
dont know from where, because I didn't want my head in the torrent!! Did I
ruin my fuel pump, is there a bypass somewhere inside it, does the "fuel
ring" ,as the Bently manual calls it, have to be complete? I need some help!
I left it alone 'till I could get some advice.

    2. Is there a resource somewhere on parts interchange? I've read/heard
that some ghia parts (late T/S lenses, brake parts, etc.) will interchange.
I saw Toby's post about the Hollander manual, is there something similar
online perhaps?

I'm definitely learning a lot by listening to you folks. I'll post more
pics on the Samba soon (if anyone is really interested in pics of a slightly
battered, stock Square ; ). Last thing. FLAPS ? Darkside? Is there a guide
to list acronyms? Thanks for listening.
