If you did it, I'd suggest that you carefully rustproof in there first, and don't just drill a couple of holes and spray something in there. You won't get it everywhere it needs to be. The adhesive damping sheets that you can stick on the INSIDE faces of those panels is probably more likely to be effective, or you could get the panels rustproofed inside and out. The main approach to damping vibration in something like this is to add mass with something that has high hysterisis, which means it absorbs energy when you deform it.
