Keep in mind that stock parts for a type 4 engine will cost mayby 4x the cost of the same part for a stock type 1/3 engine. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are 3 different type 4 engines: 1700, 1800, and 2000. The 1700 is not worth the trouble over the stock 1600, the prices for parts for the 1800 are VERY high because this wasn't used for many years (small production) so you REALLY want to make sure that the type 4 engine you start with is a 2.0L. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
