Last weekend I bought a 1969 Fastback, it's my first air-cooled VW. I'm scheduled to pick it up tomorrow, Saturday 4/5/2003. It has a couple of problems (e-brake inop and often dies at idle) but, on balance, a very nice find at 91K miles and $2,000. It looks as though it's been in SoCal its entire life. It still has the old style black CA license plates. I'm VERY impressed with the support offered by this list. My first question: I plan on having this car a long time - when prowling the yards and VW meets, which bits and pieces should I 'always' be on the lookout for.
