Re: [T3] Lots of questions...

They'll have maker's marks on the bodies. I'll make a guess from what you've
written that they're Weber carbs. You'll have a research and learning curve
to consider, and they could well be more trouble than they're worth. (They
might even be why the car was parked in the first place.) The list would
provide lots of support on parts and advice if you were to decide to make
the switch right away. If you intend to do it eventually anyway, I'd support
the idea of skipping right to it as less hassle and better for your engine.
Might cost a few hundred bucks up front in parts, though.

=> No, the brake lever was down, when I saw it,

You might get lucky and find that it's just way out of adjustment. That's a
periodic maintenance job often skipped. If there's really no fluid in the
system, you can bet someone's been messing with it. Worse, you may find a
lot of rust in it at wheel cylinders and such, which will require extra work
and expense.

But you knew when you decided to get into it this project would entail a lot
of surprise expenses, right? It's that way with every revival. Good luck
with it.

=> guess I have to order that book before I get into
=> the brake system.

Absolutely. You really don't want to rush this process. Until you get the
manual, I'd recommend you spend the energy just cleaning things up and
carefully assessing the rust damage. It sounds like you might have a major
job coming in body repair.
