Bypassing the rear heater boxes does lose you some heat, but the lower
boxes are the main heat source, so I'd guess that you lose 20-30%. Most
headers come with some cheap flex hoses that you attach to the fan
housing and then run to the lower heat exchanger just to maintain what you
can.
