<x-charset iso-8859-1> Not seriously mistaken BUT The 009 distributors of today are not only the wrong curve for just about everything but they are VERY poorly made... hence less reliable. The same is the problem with the electronic ignition modules... anyone ever had one last more than 3 years?? I had a reliability engineer look at one and his conclusion was that they are so cheaply made that there are design flaws built in in the way of thermal cycling problems. Takes 5 minutes to adjust the points every 7000miles or so and maybe 8 or 9 minutes to replace them every 15K or so... and they are VERY unlikely to fail or cause any problems between those intervals. Keith a Fuel Injected system you should be able to run a Bosch 009 with an electronic ignition unless I am seriously mistaken. That will make it possible to not have to worry about points and resetting the gap on them as well as dealing with dwell also ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
