As I've stated here many times, replacing the wire harness is the cheapest
and easiest big fix you can do on a Type 3, and you will appreciate it as
soon as you start putting things back together. I recommend it very highly.
Every one of our cars can benefit from this, and it will need doing sooner
or later -- for most of us, sooner. The alternative is ripping your own hair
out constantly chasing electrical gremlins and making little substandard
fixes. Do it bigtime, do it once, and enjoy the results.
