[T3] Parma, one month ago, thanks to Brian!

Type 3 Invaders,

I just realized that it was exactly one month ago on thie very night that a
bunch of us pulled into Parma, Idaho, and I'd like to personally thank Brian
for all the work he did to make the Invasion work.

In the beginning, I wonder how many of us actually thought he'd pull it off, but
he stuck to it and did it. I'm sure it was no small effort. Opportunities like this
come up only rarely, and rarer still are the individuals with the vision to make
them happen. I'm really glad I was one of those fortunate enough to make it.

And I'm also glad that my boss was more understanding than Leon's. We
missed you Leon; everyone wanted to meet you. ;-(

Let's also not forget Brian's wife Shannon, who let him get away with all this
fun.

I'd also like to thank Dave, Keith, John, Russ and Jason, who made my 3800
mile drive especially "interesting." Special thanks to Dave who make my 69
square look really good for the occasion.

Now, for all the rest of you, who didn't think that you'd really want to be
caught spending a whole weekend in the company of a bunch of VW crazed
semi-adults, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BRAKE FLUID, and get those
cars ready for next year. ;-)

Brian asked for recommendations about what to change for next year. I have
only a few: owner's names on the car sheets, name tags for us (with email
"handles" for those who run under aliases), maybe one more day so we
could get into more discussions and do more looking at details, and shade.
As for the latter, well, we were warned....

I don't want to bring up bad memories, but I do want to ask about the alcohol
fine. What happened? I saw no police and if I just missed them why didn't
they fine the offenders? Or did the fine come from the drive-in owner? I agree
that this should not all come down on Brian. It wasn't his fault and he did
everything possible to prevent it.

Thanks Brian. It was Great!
