Re: [T3] Correct Vacuum Dizzy for my setup.

<x-charset iso-8859-1>DavidH=> 12v setup the 32pdsit's, stock 1600, ...
=> want to put on a vacuum dizzy.
=> Which one do I need to look for?

A short-bodied distributor with a large vacuum can and the 311 part number.
Distributors for other types can work, but there are subtle differences, not
least the position of the vacuum can, which can interfere with timing.

The VW part numbers for Type 3 distributors are all the same except for the
modification code: 311 905 205 X, where X is the mod code. Stock
distributors for dual-carb 1600s are codes F, G and H, I believe.

=> also am planning on the CompuFire install
=> soon, does this change anything you think?

Get the distributor you like first, then determine whether electronic points
are available to fit it. Small differences in the advance plates can matter
bigtime in terms of fit.
