Hey guys. Just as a side note- VW will void your engine warranty if you use a fram or similar budget oil filter citing poor construction quality and filtering ability. I inquired since they were insisting that I must use a VW OE Filter (Mann or Bosch if I remember correctly) on my turbo beetle, but when I asked why I could not use a PureOne, Mobil 1, or K&N filter, they told me those three filters were ok since they exceeded their requirements. Then why should we not be so picky with our own filters here and give our engines the best possible, even if it is for a daily driver? Just a thought.... This sounds like a slam, but it shouldn't be. Cardboard is a perfectly good material to use here. Note that ALL filters use a paper element, and no one complains about that. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
