Hi list, Lately I have noticed with my Fastback that it seems reasonably hard to start. It takes about 6 or so turns of the engine before it fires up, in a range of situations (ie. cold, hot, medium etc.). It has been harder to start than my other two beetles since I have got it. Also, my other problem is that sometimes when I go to take off from a stop, it falls flat on its face, and sometimes even conks out (seems to conk out when I open the throttle more), which is very embarrassing when I am trying to show a ricewagen who's boss ;-) Anyway I am not sure if the first problem is fuel or ignition related, but the second is probably accelerator pumps? I did replace all of the basic ignition components when I got it (points, condensor, spark plugs). Any suggestions?
